January Online Workshops

January 4-31, 2010 Standard Workshop
Writing Between the Sexes; or “Why Can’t A Woman Be More Like A Man?”
Presented by Leigh Michaels

Ever read a mystery where the heroine sounds like an oversexed gangster? Or a romance where the hero sounds more like a girlfriend than a man? Chances are, the oversexed heroine was created by a male author; the tender, emotional hero by a woman.

Men and women think, act, and talk differently – which causes problems for writers who are trying to create characters of the opposite sex. Learn about the most common gender differences, and use them to believable characters of the opposite sex.

INSTRUCTOR'S BIO:

Leigh Michaels is the author of 80 contemporary romance novels published by Harlequin Books, including six titles which were finalists in the RWA RITA contest (sweet traditional category). Her books have been published in 25 languages and 120 countries with a total of more than 35 million copies in print. She is also the author of On Writing Romance, published by Writers Digest Books, which has been called the definitive guide to writing romance novels.
